Like Drinking Pond Water…MAGICAL Pond Water
I’ll be honest: the taste of this stuff is not great. Neither is the texture. When I first discovered this low-sugar, healthier alternative to Gatorade powder, I was excited to try it and thought the flavor sounded great. Plus it has a ton of other health-building ingredients. Turmeric (anti-inflammatory)? Magnesium (an essential mineral most people are deficient in)? Holy Basil (an adaptogenic herb that relieves stress)? All mixed together to taste like blackberry lemonade??? Sign me up!As I mixed the brown powder into my water bottle and shook it up, though, I noted the similarity between my newfound elixir and pond water. It didn’t look anything like blackberry lemonade. It also didn’t smell like it, and there were little bits of powder swirling around that refused to dissolve. But healthy things don’t have to look pretty. So I gave it one last shake and took a sip, expecting an at least somewhat decent flavor.Unfortunately, I had forgotten (or ignored) the presence of another ingredient for which my distaste knows no bounds: pea protein. If you’re unfamiliar with pea protein, it doesn’t dissolve well in water (that’s what those little bits of debris were). And it really doesn’t do much for flavor, either. Instead of blackberry lemonade, this powder tastes…well, I’m not really sure what it tastes like. Fruit, I guess. It’s not a terrible flavor by any means, but it’s not what I expect blackberry lemonade to taste like.So why five stars? Because this stuff works. I’ll take it after especially strenuous workouts where I sweat a lot and know my electrolytes need to be replenished. After taking a serving of this powder, I begin to feel better within five to ten minutes. It boosts my energy and allows me to rehydrate more easily, shortening my recovery time and reducing the ache I sometimes experience in my muscles after working out.For that, I will gladly endure the taste and texture (and the pea protein). I just mix it in a slightly smaller amount of water than the container recommends and gulp it down in one swig, following it with plain ol’ water. The best part is that because of the positive effects it has on your body, you’ll grow accustomed to the way it tastes and–to a certain extent–to its texture, and will begin to look forward to having it.But if you’re just beginning to wean yourself off of the colorful liquid sugar that is Gatorade and other conventional sports drinks, you’ll probably be in for a bit of a shock. Just give it a chance, and give yourself time to adjust. You’ll be much better off without all of the dyes, preservatives, and crazy amounts of sugar present in most sports drinks.

Works
I was looking for a vegan recovery supplement to replace what I used to buy from Vega. Because Vega is pricey and I’m cheap. Ordered this to use after weights days.Pros:-takes the edge off my soreness the next day-not overly sweet-mixes with water well (just keep shaking periodically)-low calCons:-accidentally breathed in some of the powder once. Do not recommend.-the taste isn’t phenomenal, but it’s a mild version of a berry lemonade. I usually mix it with what’s left of electrolytes in my shaker cup from my workout, and it perks up the flavor.Chug chug, you’ll learn to like it because it does it’s job. Not everything can taste like candy and rainbows in life.

Impressively Good Vegan Recovery Supplement
This is going to be a positive review because I am extremely satisfied with how it supports my recovery. Not to mention, it’s vegan! However, I feel the flavor and texture could be improved. The taste is a little bland, honestly. So, if you’re looking for something tasty, this might not hit the spot. But, if you’re after the benefits, it’s a good pick!

One of the BEST!
Let’s address the elephant in the room – the taste. It’s one of the BEST!Now, let’s be clear, if you are used to or expect the supplements (drinks or powders or whatever) that come with funny color, super sweet or creamy tastes, this is probably NOT for you. This tastes nothing like that. This is the real and good stuff.Chances are, since you are already looking for this type of product, you already know what to expect from a clean/vegan/organic supplement and probably had a few in the past. There is no surprise here and this one’s taste is truly great. No, it does not dissolve super well because of pea protein. I do not recommend using it with a blender or mix up with protein shake. But it’s not really a big deal since 1 scoop takes about 8oz of water, I just use a mug and a spoon to stir it, drink it like a shot right after workout. As a post workout, it’s by far the most effective one I have used in years – just like other comments said, it just works. I lift weights and mix with 10K runs 4 times a week, this thing consistently works. I felt MUCH less sore after using it even in my “bad” workout/recovery days. All in all, I highly recommend this product. And fyi no, I didn’t get paid to give positive review (I wish I did lol). This product is just simply awesome.

Tastes awful but seems to work well!
I’m using the regular (NOT sugar free version) of this. I haven’t used a recovery drink in years except protein shakes, as nearly all of them contain stevia, which my stomach just doesn’t like. Stuff is definitely gritty, so don’t expect it to taste great, but it seems to work so far. Muscle fatigue has decreased for sure, and I don’t feel like I’m dying the next day, no matter how hard my workout was. I just throw it in 8oz cold water and chug it. Definitely recommended if you’re looking for a clean, vegan product that actually seems to work. I also pair this with the pre-workout, which I also have a review on over there.

Don’t Fear the Taste
I drank it the first day, thought the taste was pretty good, but hesitated to leave the review because, well, I cheated… I mixed it with 8oz of coconut water. And it was pretty good! Sure, 45 extra calories, a few extra sugars, but also quite a bit more potassium that way. And no poor taste. So today, I decided to mix with just cold water to see the difference. Ehh, not so tasty. It didn’t taste bad, but the flavor was so watered down that it didn’t taste like much of anything (like when you refill a sports drink bottle and it’s flavored water). Both times I’ve taken it, the shakiness, the fatigue did seem to subside quicker than usual. Just in my head? Who knows, but I like the ingredients and will keep using this recovery drink.
