Color me surprised!
Some surgery and then illness resulted in my ignoring my 5.7L Dodge Challenger R/T for quite a long time. When those passed, I was excited about getting back behind the wheel and taking that 6 speed manual transmission through all the paces. Well, the battery wasn’t in the mood to cooperate. Dead as a doornail. Not even interior lights ore dings when opening the door. I went back inside and started searching considering solutions. No one to get a jump from, and thought I’d look for one of those jump starters for next time. Tons to choose from but chose this one. I was a bit skeptical but the reviews were genuinely very good. It also has a powerful flashlight and air compressor to inflate tires. But those were secondary. It came in and I charged it to 100% with the USB-A to USB-c cable it came with. When I received it, it was at about 80%, and it only took a short while to get to full charge. Took it outside, pulled down the back seat and crawled through the truck to open the trunk latch (electric so needs power to open, but the pull handle inside got it open), followed the instructions, pressed the start button and … nada. No matter what I did no joy. Went back inside and tried to figure out what to do. Finally, I emailed tech support. The response was quick and solved my issue. when a battery is really dead, you apparently must carry out the procedure in a specific way that disables the inherent protections in the device. Now, needless to say I was a bit concerned about that description: disabling safety protections. I had been getting a Troubleshooting Code of “5”: “Short-circuit protection –Don’t connect the clips together or to the same metal.” But I followed the instructions given by the manufacturer/seller (I do not recommend veering from the instructions that come with the device without contacting and following specific instructions from them). In my case I was advised:”The short circuit protection of the product can be bypassed in the following way.Connect the clip to the starting power supply → connect the red clip to the positive pole of the car battery → press and hold the BOOST button for 3 seconds to enter the starting mode → connect the black clip to the negative pole of the car battery → enter the vehicle for ignition operation.”Very carefully did so, keeping well out of the way of the battery and the device just in case. When I got into the car to try and start it, this time the car lights flickered and came on. Pushed in the clutch, pressed the Start button, and it started right up! Carefully disconnected the wires and drove the care for abouot an hour. Upon my return, turned it off. Waited a few minutes and tried again. It started right up. The jump starter had only dropped to 78%. I am very pleased with this device. Accomplished just what I needed with a short learnhing curve. Think the cables could be a bit longer but they are functional. Easily worth the price!

Well, I think it does pretty great, considering I pumped up 3 cars worth of tires + a trailer with 2 tires and it was only down to 48%. For an air pump to pump a solid 10-12 minutes, that would be equivalent to probably 10 jump starts or more on half a charge. This is a guess, but a fairly educated guess. I think it’s a win for me! I wish I had a vehicle that needed a jump right now, I am just itching to use it for that also. The flashlight is a great feature as well as the ability to charge your phone or charge the machine and drive (road trip). I charged it by wall because I live in a small town and there isn’t enough time between one end of town and the other to charge it. Now: for the bad: the air pump exhaust does get quite hot after 14 tires, as I imagine any air pump should. And the air pump hose is annoyingly short and comes loose while pumping fairly easy, especially when hot. I think this is quite versatile and useful for a family car and honestly needed for any vehicle owner. If I was to improve on it, I would definitely lengthen that air hose because if someone used it on a large truck tire, it would be hanging by the air hose and would be destroyed very shortly, unless you were to hold it up while pumping. One other thing that it took some getting used to is how to hold it and what unit to use. If you hold it from the right side, you tend to hit the unit of measure and mode buttons often. If you hold it only from the handle it helps a whole lot. The air pump gauge is also within 1psi of my gauge so it’s pretty accurate as well.

Il prodotto è ben confezionato e presenta oltre alla scatola in cartone una borsetta semirigia a protezione dell’unità di avvio/pompaggio/illuminazione/ricarica e con un’alloggiamento, separato da cerniera e rete trasparente, in grado di contenere tutti gli accessori, tra cui: un paio di guanti resistenti e isolati sul palmo in gomma, una coppia di morsetti per il collegamento alla batteria dell’auto e apposito connettore lato unità starter, un tubo rivestito in tessuto di gonfiaggio adatto alle valvole dei pneumatici delle auto/moto/bici ecc., un kit aggiuntivo di tre adattatori di gonfiaggio per palloni, gonfiabili ecc., due cavi usb, uno tipo A e l’altro tipo C. Quindi il prodotto è completo. Oltre al libretto di istruzioni a parte, anche sul retro dell’unità è presente una tabella riepilogativa delle caratteristiche (vedi foto) dalla quale si evince che la capacità della batteria integrata è di circa 100Wh (99,16Wh). La modalità avviamento di emergenza funziona bene (testata anche su veicolo IBRIDO con motore a benzina 1800 cc e elettrico) e i cavetti di connessione sono ben dimensionati, solidi e aderenti. La funzione di gonfiaggio funziona bene con pneumatici auto, moto, biciclette ecc. Il sistema di gonfiaggio è automatico, nel senso che una volta impostata la pressione di gonfiaggio l’unità si arresta automaticamente al raggiungimento del valore impostato. La funzione di illuminazione consente di illuminare per diverse ore (tesato per 12 ore consecutive alla fine delle quali restava ancora carica disponibile) ed è possibili emettere una luce continua bianca, una luce strobo rossa o generare un segnale luminoso di richiesta di soccorso SOS. Il sistema si ricarica completamente in meno di tre ore e possiede tre prese di ricarica usb (di cui una di tipo A destinata anche alla ricarica della stessa unità) per cellulari ed altri dispositivi.
