I love spirulina! This product mixes well into liquids, smoothies etc. I can taste it a little bit but it isn’t bad. I definitely feel healthier when i use this. I did transfer it into a dark glass jar for storage for easier use/less dusty than trying to get it out of a bag.

I read where this Spirulina powder is good for me so I ordered some. My mom always told me when she’d force a teaspoon of cod liver oil down my throat as a kid, “Things that are good for you taste bad.” If this is true, Spirulina powder must the the best supplement on the planet because it tastes like crap! I haven’t found any food that tastes strong enough to mask its flavor but I plan to try some in spicy chili tonight. My wife makes me a smoothie in the mornings with a tablespoon of this stuff in it and the only thing that keeps me from gagging is thinking of how healthy it will make me.Bulk Supplements sent me an email with a generous but confusing offer. They wrote that if I would review one of their products they would send me a package of it! Then I read the rules and was surprised to see that I had to review a Bulk Supplement product that I had not ordered before. How is that possible? Were they temping me to lie? I was not about to violate my integrity by writing a fake review, as tempting as it was because I do like free stuff. I read other reviewers write that Bulk Supplements made them the same confusing offer, so I don’t think it is an isolated incident. Personally, I wish I had read about this review offer prior to ordering because it left just as bad a taste in my mouth, figuratively speaking, as the Spirulina powder itself.I cannot honesty say that I have noticed any immediate beneficial health effects after consuming Spirulina powder but it may take some time because I have let myself go for several years. I can say it curbs my appetite, I feel so nauseous after my morning smoothie that I have no desire to eat more. Another thing I thought I’d mention, this powder is like a green food dye, a little tiny bit will make a smoothie very dark green, which could come in handy if you need green food coloring in a pinch.Hopefully I will soon start feeling the benefits of Spirulina powder and, when and if I do, I will report back!

When I tell you I swear by this product, I 150% do. I’m THAT PERSON who generally writes reviews when products are excellent. I IMMEDIATELY seen the effects of this product after the second day of usage. I noticed some joint pain due to inflammation in my ankles subsided and I experienced some appetite suppression. I generally make it with this green smoothie drink a cup of ice & 1/2 cup of ice cold water, adding only a 1.5 tsp of the product for a more slushier consistency. Now I caution you DO NOT take more than a tsp in one setting, I mistakenly took a tablespoon of the Spirulina and OMG instant diarrhea and loss of appetite. If you mix as a smooth preferably a juice blend you can barely test the product. I tried it with a Premier Protein Drink & it didn’t mix well and was pretty thick. I love LOVE this product and brand and will continue to buy‼️❤️

This was my first time trying spirulina – got it for too high overall cholesterol (287) after blood panel. My next test is in November, so I marked my calendar to update my review if it helps or doesn’t.I saw a lot of comments on messiness of this product and also on the taste and smell. You know how vanilla extract smells really really good, but if you taste it as-is, doesn’t taste good at all? This spirulina was just the opposite for me – it smells absolutely horrible, but if you mix it with a sweet drink, it tastes just like the sweet drink tastes, yummy! I use diet cranberry juice or sugar free lemonade.On to the messiness issues, this is what I do. First of all, accept the messiness and the fact that some of the spirulina will get all over everything, including you. Take a pair of scissors, a medium size sheet of wax paper on your countertop, a small or medium wide-mouth jar and a measuring tablespoon. Place the pouch top side up on the wax paper and tamp down the powder as much as possible. Carefully cut the top of the pouch just below the self-seal opening. Put your jar in the middle of the wax paper, and slowly pour the spirulina into the jar. You can use the wax paper as a funnel to pour any spilled stuff into the jar. Seal the jar, rinse the green stuff off your hands, wipe the jar off, and place your measuring tablespoon beside it on a smaller piece of wax paper on your countertop so you don’t forget to drink it every day.Also drink lots of water after drinking the spirulina – this will help to avoid constipation that may occur in some folks. Hope this helps!

I tried this product because I have a very slow metabolism which has made me chronically tired. While this product doesn’t completely solve my chronic fatigue issues, it has given me an extremely noticeable boost of energy.Obviously spirulina isn’t a stimulant, so the energy boost doesn’t have a jittery effect or anything like that. The way I would explain it is that there is a point in the day where you feel most awake and have good energy, this point sandwiched right in between morning grogginess and before you’re worn out from the day. The energy boost basically expands that window of time where I’m feeling like I have optimal energy. Also, I wake up most days with very little or no grogginess at all now.I’ve bought other Bulk Supplements products and this one seems to be quality just like the others I’ve bought.
