For $10, all of my boxes got checked with this item. When you open it, it turns on (and closing it turns it off.) It’s easy to read (you can swap from C to F with the press of one button), when using it all that you must do it place the thermometer point in the thickest part of the meat (not touching any bones) and wait. Anyway, the first thing I pulled out was a well written and easy to understand User Manual – not something you usually get from anything made in China. It also came with a useful Meat Temperature Guide – which I’m sure will hopefully help my brother grill his steaks to a proper medium rare.I next inspected the thermometer and found it to be better built than expected, not being flimsy nor having a cheap plastic housing.
