DON’T BUY THIS GARBAGE
Absolute Garbage! Very cheaply made. Nothing snaps together. Falls apart trying to place it, and falls apart when you try to take it out. Entrance tines are light plastic and float in water leaving the doorway wide open… it’s more of a snail buffet… don’t buy this garbage, just based on the fact that it took over a month to come in and completely disappoint us.

This thing works!
My heavily planted freshwater tank ended up completely overrun with snails thanks to an untrustworthy online vendor, making my albino Cory cats and the plants miserable. I needed a quick, simple fix and these traps are it! they really work quite well. A bit fiddly to start with, but there are Youtube videos to help you with that. Made in and shipped from China, so expect a longer shipping window, but it did get here sooner than predicted, yay. I have set up and emptied the trap twice tonight, (only set it up and use it AT NIGHT, and eliminate all external light sources, per the directions)and have cleaned out over a third of the snails in the tank already. Anticipate doing this at least twice a week for a month, to catch hatchlings as well. Would like to leave a couple of snails in the tank, as they eliminate any algae growth, so will only set the trap up once a month or so in future. It is a simple product, but genius! Fairly simple to put together. You will need a food-grade rubber band to put around it to hold it together when full, and for easy placement and removal of the trap in the tank, and for F***’s sake, do NOT dump the snails into the garbage or your toilet!!! We don’t need more invasive species in our waterways. Dump the snails in a ziploc bag, seal it and put it in your freezer for a day or so. Then you can safely get rid of the snails, unless you have a friend with Loaches, Cichlids or freshwater Puffers looking for a snack. Bear in mind, the trap is plastic, so no brute force when doing the minuscule amount of assembly. I baited mine with Wardley shrimp pellets, which these snails have a marked preference for. Do not leave the trap in the tank, as it will quickly foul the whole thing and give you a much bigger headache, and possibly dead fish. Remove and rinse it each morning, taking care of the snails in the process(they will have the whole thing coated by slime at that point, hence needing the rinse, so be warned). Added bonus, they send TWO traps for this price!

These work like magic
My 3 Mystery Snails soon became 50+ Mystery Snails so I had to remove some to give the tank back to my fish. You will need to use rubber bands to hold the halves together (cheap plastic so it doesn’t stay connected). I used sinking shrimp pellets as the bait…..dropped the trap in overnight and by morning I had at least 30 snails inside. Took them to my local fish store…..too small to make escargo. (Kidding)

“Trapdoor” Function too Light for Water
This device utilizes small ‘pins’ that balance on a hinge-pin allowing the snails to enter, but theoretically unable to leave. The issue is the ‘pins’ are so light that they float in the water, allowing the snails to go back out when they are ready to leave. Nor do the pins ever “acclimate” to stay lowered. As a snail trap, this device is nonfunctional, as a small day-spa that only the snails can get the treats from – its GREAT…

Work Great
These traps work great, I catch 40 or more snails each night. Helped so much with our infestation. Shipping could be faster, but it was worth the wait.

Don’t waste your money
This trap is not effective, the little tines that are supposed to trap the snails in, FLOAT, leaving the mouth wide open. Returning this product

Easy to use
This little thing works like a charm!

Could be user error
But anything other than a delicate touch and this falls apart in the water while trying to removed trapped snails. :/
