Only took an hour for my 5 gallon to test from very hard to very soft. Really great fix. I don’t think anything else would’ve worked for me. Make sure to check and test water after just an hour for smaller tanks, and remove

Discovered I had very hard water in my 75gal aquarium from a rock that was leaching minerals. Removed the rock, and did a partial water change but it wasn’t enough to bring the water into ideal conditions. Used this to successfully bring down the hardness. I recharged it for reuse per the instructions but it didn’t appear to have any further effectiveness beyond the initial use. Highly recommended for harness reduction, and cheaper than in store.

it does what it’s supposed to however one packet only treats 20 gallons so if you have a large tank, you need to buy multiple of these.

Works the way it should
I had hard water in my fish tank that I could not get rid, so I looked on Amazon and found this. Worked quickly and the instructions were great. When it was ready to recharge, I soaked it in water with added aquarium salt. (do not use house salt.) and put it back into the tank. Now I have no issues. Can be used many times over.

Product doesn’t work
I used these water-softening pillows to lower the GH of my tank that I have accidentally raised from 10dGH to 16dGH, instead of 13dGH, using Seachem Equilibrium to add more magnesium for my plants (intense magnesium deficiency).I bought two bags for my 55 gallon tank, and the pillows brought down the GH to 13dGH within 13 hours. However, as soon I remove those pillows yesterday and tested the water again today, the GH shot back up to 16dGH. I tested the water several times today, but it read 16 every time.The product didn’t work as intended, and I already threw them out, so no refund for me. Waste of time.

I love this product. I have a 5-gallon aquarium that I used it on. I had it on there for about 2.5 hours. I checked it and it went from hard water to very soft water in that short of a time. It went too soft, so I had to add spring water in to try and balance it. It went too soft for betta fish. It works great and fast!!
