Works Great for Atmos Speakers
I needed to buy a 1/4″-20 female to 3/8″-16 male adapter to use these with my Polk R900’s but I’m not deducting a star for that. It was difficult to get the mounts to hold my speakers in place with the included allen wrench but not impossible. It would have been easier if the wrench was smaller. They look great in my setup and work perfectly.

Very solid product
I read all the reviews before purchasing these, and frankly, I was confused. Some people were saying they were not good, a waste of money, etc.; THANKFULLY, I choose to go with my gut and side with Definitive Tech and my belief that they would never sell a bad product. These mounts are great. Very solid, low profile and allow for a full range of mounting positions for large speakers. I have the ProCinema 800’s, and there are absolutely no issues with these mounts. They go up easy and securely. Another complaint I read was that buyers were miffed that Def. Tech did not include hardware to mount these – well – I don’t blame Def. Tech at all. These are not small, light, satellite speakers – these are 8 lbs each. and when considering you are mounting them at an angle, they do place a good deal of outward pressure on the mounts. A buyer needs to look at where they are putting them and buy mounting screws accordingly. I used stainless steel 1/4″ molly screws which worked perfectly for me: I was installing in dry-wall with a plaster exterior. Imagine if I had used stock mounting screws that were not adequate to my mounting surface and my very expensive nice new speaker hit the ground – imagine Def. Tech’s endless headache with dealing with people who would do exactly that!! The mounting holes are universal, you can use what ever mounting setup you think best. Novel idea huh? The speaker sets very securely to the mount, all parts are metal, and you can cinch them down once you get them into position – they do not slip, sag or alter their position in any way once you have them set up. Mounting is also easy, you mount the rotating ball to the speaker first and then position that into the holder on the installed base of the mount – tighten one allen nut – and voila – you are done. Great product, I would recommend it to anyone looking for a nice mount for their speakers. Buy it, these are well worth the couple bucks extra over the generic mounts you find at Video Only or Best Buy.

Top Tier Speaker Wall Mount
Tried out Jumbl and Sanus universal wall mounts before finally coming across this brand. A little bit more expensive compared to other mounts but definitely worth the price! Heavy duty and very well built. Mounted my Samsung Q990D rear speakers and the wall mounts compliments the speakers very well. Only issue is I had to go buy an extra long T handle Allen key just to make it easier to tighten the clamp (see photo listed).

Easy to install…
This is a great clamp for your surround sound setup. Fully adjustable and well built. But, like most gear for hobbyists of any kind, overpriced. You pay a premium for this mount but it does everything it’s supposed to do from the get-go.

Mount the bracket vertically for heavier speakers.
Nice brackets and work great. I have DT-1000’s mounted on my walls. I first aligned the bracket in a horizontal direction and no matter how much i tightened the clamp the speakers would drop down.I changed the orientation of the bracket, mounting them Vertically and problem solved. They have been up for several months and haven’t budged. Also, the hole in the center of the bracket is large enough to pass speaker wire through allowing for a cleaner installation.A really good bracket just a tad pricey at $25/bracket.

Work well but expensive – packaging an issue
They hold my 4.5 pound Polk TL3 rears just fine. I had an issue with the cheap packaging that allowed them to get scratched in shipment. The allen wrench supplied is just thrown unwrapped into a small cheap cardboard box and the mounts themselves are wrapped with the thinnest tissue paper I have ever seen. The result was several minor scratches either from the wrench or the threaded studs contacting the painted surface of the bracket. I was able to mount them so the scratches didn’t show too much, but shame on Definitive for the shoddy packaging. For the price they should have wrapped them a little better to prevent damage.

Expensive but Invaluable
We installed four Definitive Technology ProMonitor 1000 speakers on our family room walls about eight feet up as part of a 7.1 surround sound system eleven years ago. When we saw one of the rear speakers hanging down by the speaker wire, we investigated and learned that the polymer liner of the speaker mount that grasped the round ball attached to the speaker had deteriorated. Fortunately, the speaker wires were attached to sturdy posts and secured with round knobs, so they kept the speaker from falling.I contacted the merchant from whom I had bought the speakers and a support rep said they would contact the company and determine whether the bracket liner was available as a replacement part.Weeks went by and I did my own research, finding this pair of brackets on Amazon. They came with separate mounting balls and bolts for the speaker, which was an easy swap with the old one that I had taken down. Replacing the entire bracket was as easy using two new wall anchors after running the speaker wires, and then connecting them. The only challenge to nserting the mounting ball and tightening the mount with the provided Allen wrench once the angle had been adjusted was the fact that the speaker was mounted so high on the wall. But at the title says, if you need one of these to replace an old mount for a really good surround sound speaker, they’re well worth the money. And now I have a spare bracket if another one fails.

Very well built and perfect for my light Polk OWM3s! Little pricy but I know they won’t be dropping my speakers anytime soon.

Best to mount them on a stud. I have 8.5 lb speakers and they hold them up fine, but they will sag a bit. Using them for rear height speakers for Dolby Atmos and Auro 3D set-up.
