The ThermoMaven thermometer has a familiar style but a nice and bright display that is easy to read. I tested it against another more expensive digital thermometer I own and found it to have equivalent readings, so it feels accurate. It reads quickly too. This thermometer works well, gives quick readings, and it is waterproof. A solid, reliable option for the price.I’ve been using a digital meat thermometer for a while, but recently it seemed off, and my meat was getting overcooked. The final straw came last week when I was cooking a brisket, and it took way longer than usual to hit the right internal temperature. When I cut into it, the thinner parts were overcooked and dry. This is one of the most useful cooking tools you could own. I’ve used one for years, but this one has a few neat features built into it. It is magnetic, so keeping it handy by the stove, fridge, BBQ or other appliance is very convenient. It automatically powers up when you open the probe up from the body, and turns off when you close it. I don’t know how many time I left my other one on that uses a switch. It reads the temperature instantly, and the long probe allows you to test the temperature at a wide variety of depths, so this works just as well with a thin steak as it does with a large roast. It has a large, easily readable display which actually flips upright so you can read it no matter how you insert it into the food. There is a simple food temperature chart printed on it that you can reference quickly if you want. It powers off after 30 seconds if you don’t touch it, so the AAA battery won’t be drained, and just picking it up turns it back on. I tested the accuracy against another temperature probe, and they had similar temperature readings. A nice and functional addition to your cooking.
