A great start but does not fulfill the goal stated in the title
I commend Eden on a very concise and informative book, and it does provide a fairly detailed insight into canine dietary needs, however most aspects are covered with generalizations. Sections like “Decoding Dog Food Labels” do provide an insight but do not begin to provide the depth of knowledge required to decode dog food labels.I do have other major misgivings as understanding what ingredients are safe and healthy, this is only half the story. No where do I see the need to calculate, considering all the associated variables, your dog’s individual daily calorific needs. If known, you can then formulate the amounts of each ingredient while also ensuring the correct nutrient balance.None of the recipes for treats or meals list the amounts of each ingredient nor the calorific value therefore while the selection of the ingredients may well be healthy the combination of amounts could result in problems especially with unintentional over feeding.Some of the ingredients are questionable, for example Kale is recommended yet it known to cause mild to potentially severe gastric irritation and can also interfere with a dog’s thyroid function. There are plenty of green alternatives that do not pose any potential health problems. The use of coconut oil is also highly recommended, yet the latest research shows that it inflammatory and causes leaky gut syndrome. The ASPCA expressly advises that it not be given to dogs as it may cause stomach upset, loose stools or diarrhea.Overall, the content was supported by excellent references and suggested reading.

I was very disappointed with this book.
I was very disappointed with this book. While the cover was beautiful, the interior was a complete letdown. The fonts would randomly change size, getting smaller or larger for no apparent reason, which made reading confusing and frustrating. The layout was poorly designed, making the content hard to follow.The most frustrating issue was the index. I wanted to look up information on Zinc, and the index directed me to page 19. However, Zinc wasn’t there. Even worse, clicking on the index entry didn’t take me to the correct location either. I ended up having to use the built-in KDP reader’s search function to find mentions of Zinc, which appeared on three different pages—none of which were listed in the index. The only page listed in the index was incorrect. This was also the same for other words in the index, which took me to the wrong pages.Overall, the disorganized formatting and inaccurate and useless index made this book feel unprofessional and not worth the price. The entire book felt like an AI cut and paste. Don’t waste your money. If I could give 0 Stars I would.
