One application can last a few hours for me, depending on the severity of my tooth pain. But usually, a little bit goes a long way. The gel is clear, and has no real taste to it; it just numbs the area, and that’s all I feel. I appreciate that there’s no bitter taste; also, I like that (since it is clear), then it doesn’t show if I am talking or something. This tube can last me quite a while, as I use it only when I’m having some difficulty with tooth/gum pain. I’d say the size of the tube is decent, and it’s also easy to take with me in my purse or bag. This is a great item, and really does work wonders for me; it’s pain relief and numbing works fast, and this is the brand I go to. Excellent product and value!

I have used the Orajel products for years. Sensitive teeth. I have found that the gel as opposed to the cream absorbs much quicker. Which, if you have a toothache, is critical.I use a damp cotton swab to apply. Damp, so it doesn’t soak up all the gel. Then I hold it against the painful area for a bit, which keeps the saliva at bay so it can really sink in. Putting it on doesn’t hurt. And after repeated applications, there will be a build up of effect. This will save you if you have bad tooth pain. This is the sort of product you want to have in your first aid kit, at the ready. It’s amazing. Highly highly recommend.
