    Wow!
I was quite irritated with the childish behavior of the leading lady, that was the worst part. The rest of the book is exciting and dark. I would’ve liked a bit more sexy flirting and touching but it was a good amount for the darkness of the story. The hot parts were definitely hot and worth the read. I finished in a day.

    nesting dolls of taboo
If you’ve read AJ before then you know she does taboo and dark in the realest sense. This story is a nesting doll of taboo (non-con, dub-con, step siblings, foster brothers, serial killers, etc.) so make sure you check your trigger warnings before you enter this book. It is a shorter one but it is still a good story. AJ definitely has a way of winning you over by the end.

    Had potential to be great
The story was really great, I loved it! It just felt kind of incomplete to me and it was riddled with typos all over the place. The FMC, Conor, her hair color description changed a couple of times from auburn to black then back again. That’s a huge error for my ocd. She also came across as an irritating brat more often than not.Conor’s stepbrothers have been in an intimate relationship for years but we don’t know when they started. Conor was 16 when she first caught them, which made them 18, but I wonder if they had an immediate attraction as soon as they met or if it developed over time. They aren’t blood related brothers, as they were adopted at different times, but I liked the taboo aspect of it since legally they’re brothers. They are also apparently serial unalivers but we weren’t told when or how that started, how many times it’s happened, how or where they choose their victims, all information I wanted to know. We just aren’t given any info on it beyond the 3 victims we were told about in the book. And those 3 weren’t their first victims, and that they weren’t going to stop. I’d love to have learned more about it.Conor is 25 and left home 7 years ago but we aren’t told where she went or what she did or who she lived with. Or maybe she was only 23 in the story and left home at 16. Either way, I wish there was more backstory other than she thought the boys were mean to her and made her leave. We were given one example of such and that’s it. I wish we were told more about it.There’s only a couple of spicy scenes, one of which is actual shmex. It could have had more inserted. I also wish it had been a longer book. There’s a pattern here: I wish we were told more. More information, more backstory, more examples of their cruelty, more spice, more pages. It’s a good book but just kind of felt like too much was missing for me to give it more than 3 stars.

    Conor, Boone, & Fletcher!!
I loved reading this story so much! It’s not as long of a story as I was hoping it was while reading it.Fletcher and Boone are her stepbrothers, which she thinks have hated her since they met. Then they show up to the family cabin for Christmas because she’s there by herself and now they won’t leave her alone.Fletcher and Boone are the hurt her and die type of men. They may be walking red flags but they care about her very deeply and express it in the only ways they know how.I definitely recommend reading this book! Please make sure you check for any trigger warnings!

    Obsessed with this Christmas Thriller!
I am obsessed with this novella! I really wish that it was a full length, a prequel, or part of a mini series for these characters. As I really want more of them. I want to see their dynamic and their relationship grow.Conor, gets snowed in at her family’s cabin for Christmas. Except, her dad called and said that their flight was cancelled so she would be alone. Until, the two guys she’s been running from for years, her step brothers Fletcher and Boone, show up late and unannounced.Reasons I loved this book:It had a lot of the dark themes that I love! The guys in this one, while not extremely patient with her, do not just come in on day one, tie her up and force her to listen to everything that they have to say and take what they want to do. They sorta let her simmer and get used to them, let her get comfortable-ish. That’s not saying that there isn’t CNC, because their most certainly is. I love how much the guys loved her, you’ll know when you read it! Oh, and someone gets tied up with lights! With all that being said, please PLEASE please, don’t forget to check the trigger warnings because this book is dark, and has very dark themes, and goes into details about some things that could be very triggering.

    I enjoyed it
It’s not my favorite of this author but it was an enjoyable read. I always enjoy AJs stories more when there’s more time for falling in love and safe words. It felt a bit rushed this time and I wanted more groveling if I’m being honest. But it was a fun Christmas read to get me through the holiday! VERY much loved the lights scene!

    Unexpectedly awesome
I randomly came across this title unaware that AJ had a holiday novella coming out, and I’m ao glad I did. It’s a snowed in, step brothers, enemies to lovers, MMF set around the Christmas season. It also has a dog, so I’m not sure what else you could want. It’s also a really interesting story, so I hope she decides to continue it at some point because there is a lot of meat left on the bone…for Sitka, of course 😝

Ok but not my favorite of AJ’s
I wanted more spice actually. The story was good, just unexpected from the synopsis. I thought she would have done something to them, ran, and they retaliated by stalking her around the lake area in the snow once she dared to appear again. This was ok but not like her other series with unhinged male characters and their dark backstories.

Merlin is one click read for me. Before I even read the blurb I know I’ll read her books, so this one was a given. Once again, Ms Merlin doesn’t disappoint. Our FMC is likeable and the right amount of brat vs charm for me. Our MMCs are awesome and I’d love to see even more of their crazy obsession for their sister. This was a quick byt enjoyable read and I’d definitely recommend it to others.

AJ Merlin has done it again, another page turner you just can’t put down. I love that this wasn’t just a typical step family story, such a twist and AJ has a way with words, you become so wrapped up in the story you forget it’s not real and you don’t actually know them. If you love a bit of suspense, spice and not so step family with a twist. You need to read this book.

A long time fan of AJ Merlin, impressed with another story.I liked the taboo-esqu nature of the quasi- sibling relationship. The differences between the feisty class out Conor, stern serious Fletcher and the eratic energetic Boone. Loved the revenge plot, as a nerd from youth to adulthood, bullying hits home.I didn’t like that it was a novela, I could have kept reading about their story!

I was really excited to read this but I just didn’t connect to it like I wish I did. There were some grammatical errors but that wasn’t the main problem. The story between Fletcher, Boone and Conor was written in a way that made me feel a little uneasy (and it wasn’t because they were step siblings). The way they were with Conor made me uncomfortable. There was just something in the way it was written that felt wrong. I didn’t like how they forced Conor into being vulnerable (naked, watching those videos) or forcing themselves physically on to her. To me it wasn’t written in a sexy way. It was written in an uncomfortable and wrong way. I wish there was more smut but also it made me uncomfortable with it being so forced so….. I wish I could’ve liked this book more but this is how I feel. I’m glad they all got their HEA together, I just wish I could enjoy it more. I did loveeeeee Fletcher and Boone’s relationship tho omgggg they were so hot together ugh. The way they could communicate without even saying a word was just✨✨🦋🦋 They were so cute together😭💜💜💜⭐️2.5🌶️2HEA✅

As always, AJ Merlins writing has me glued to the edge of my seat. Her character development and writing style is one of my favourite things.I wasn’t too sold on the step brother/sister aspect to begin with, but in the end, it didn’t put me off the book too much.
