Works well
Second times a charm, bought this before and it is no longer sticking after 4/5 years. So bought another. Tried other brands but they don’t work as well. So sticking to what I know.Installs easily and is flexible and mostly adjustable. Has sufficient mobility for general use.

Universal Phone Holder Securely Supports Large Cell Phones for Driving on Most Highways
I drive a 2013 Honda CRV and recently used the car phone mount attached to the windshield on a 12.5 hour journey using interstates and secondary roadways which included both smooth and slightly rough pavements. I installed the phone holder on the bottom left corner of the windshield in the same location where I place my Garmin GPS; and with the extension, the phone is suspended just left of my steering wheel but not obscuring vision. I found that on smooth roads, the phone (Galaxy S5 in an Otterbox defender case and weighing 7 ounces) was reasonably steady meaning that there was slight movement of the phone and my GPS application, Waze, worked well and was easy to read. However on slightly rough roads, there was considerable movement making the GPS map hard to read. My suggestion to the manufacturer is to attach a support which can be easily positioned to brace the extension on the dash and dampen vibration coming through the windshield and dashboard to add stability and readability on rougher roads. That’s the reason for the 4 stars- my suggestion is an easy remedy as other manufacturers have already adopted extension supports. The phone holder is very secure and it holds my phone easily. I did try the vent holder, but it’s not robust enough to support a heavy phone, and I prefer to view a GPS closer to eye level for safety reasons. And, the dash mount is not practical as my dash has too many sloped areas. In lieu of a dash mount, my suggestion is to offer a short windshield mount- this is preferred for me and has proven well for the past 7 years to be the most stable position for a GPS device or phone holder. My recent trip was in April 2018 with air temperatures in the 60’s F; I’m unsure how the plastic and suction cups will hold up in summer heat when a parked car can allow temperatures to rise to 120 F or more. I live in the southeast and summer temperatures in the upper 90’s F are not uncommon. When I’m traveling and stopping for food or fuel, I leave the mount connected to the windshield. When my trip is over, I take down the car mount and store it in my home. I do like the phone mount but not every mounting option in the kit is ideal for my car which makes the Vansky 3-in-1 very useful for others as cars are different and preferences vary.

Many mount styles but the one I use is not great.
This will be a review of the head of the unit (the part where the mobile devices goes on to), and the short mounting unit (not the long arm mounting, not the car vent mounting).I have purchased this product on October 2018 and I am writing this review as of Dec 2018 after moderate usage. The weather condition this product was used in varies between 40 degrees F to 80 degrees F inside my car. First let’s talk about the short arm mounting. The mounting is pretty well fixed on my dashboard. I have not had it fall off, peel off, or any sort of similar incident. I have a semi leather with groves finish on my dash and it was able to hold quite well. My initial concern was because the finish was not smooth the mounting would fall off, but it didn’t happen to me.Let’s review the head unit. I had an issue with the head unit opening after about 1.5 month of use. I have disassembled the unit and found few things interesting about the build of the unit (not all bad but I can see few areas for improvement). The two sides of the unit which clasp the mobile device are connected to two gears. These gears are connected to each other to allow the clasps to close and open together. Problem here is there is some sort of glue / lubricant that was added to the axle of both gears. Whatever it was, it was sticky as hell and didn’t allow the gear to move smoothly. Maybe the fluid added was intended for lubrication but later reacted with the plastic material, which became really really sticky. This stickiness fights with the spring that help push the clasp open. The spring which pushes the clasps open is kinda wimpy. The spring force is too weak to open the clasp fully, especially with the sticky material at the gears. I have also experience the spring popping out of the assembly and get stuck so that the clasps don’t work at all anymore. This is because the grove where the spring sits in is open; meaning the only thing holding the spring down is the clasps, and when the clasps open fully the spring is prone to popping out of the slot and get jammed. So far most uses I have to press the release lock on the back and use my other hand to spread open the clasps, which defeats the intended purpose of having it spring open. Over all it does the job but could be better. The mounting from the head to the stand is decent, however when fully tighten the head could still turn and can’t be “locked” sturdy to the ball joint on the mount. With the mobile device on the head I never had the head drooping down when it is tightened, but I could turn and tilt the head with some force.

It’s better than all the holders I’ve purchased.
I had to leave it in the truck that I used to drive. The suction cup on is really strong. You would need heat to remove. I left it because it was cheap, but really good product so the next driver wouldn’t have to worry about getting one.

This has yet to be the best car phone mount so far!I love the 3 in 1 design. It does give the consumers some good choices on how they want the phone mount to be placed. My partner has this in his car without. He is just loving it! We personally love the soft cushiony clips because it is not harsh on the phone. It has 360 degrees rotation which gives you the option to find the perfect angle. The suction cup is very strong. We went car racing last weekend running at a speed of 170 and had some quick hard turns. The car phone mount may be shaky but the important thing is, it did not fall off and flew from other directions. The suction cup is impressive! My partner and I are very satisfied with the item!***
