    Finicky dogs will love it
I have a chiwawa/terrier mix adopted at 7 months. From the very first day Ebie hated kibbles. I tried so many different kinds of expensive kibble brands. So Ebie has been raised on Blue Wilderness Beef and Chicken wet can food all her life. She is almost 2 years old now.I saw Katherine Heigl’s commercial and wanted to try the freeze dry superfood complete.I was very spectacle that Ebie would not even like it cuz she prefers soft food and soft treats, spoiled hates to crunch. But loves only expensive “ bull sticks” treats.I ordered the wild fish & turkey formula for 2 reasons.1- Ebie already gets beef and chicken with Blue wet food. ( no fish )2- comparing the protein and crude fat ratio , it had the highest protein and lowest fat percentages ( min.) after chicken. Protein% Fat%Wild fish & turkey. 38 27Beef. 30. 25Chicken. 38. 22Lamb & venison. 30. 30Beef & bison. 34. 34To my surprise when I opened the package, an overwhelming fresh smell of fish was present. I have never smelled such strong clean fresh smell in any kibble before.( never tried freezes dry foods)Ebie came running to me and she acted like I bought her a new treat! She can smell it too.I put a little in my hand, still spectacle , Ebie hates anything crunchy, but she absolutely loved these freezes dry food.I was shocked!Chiwawa’s are super finicky and I am so glad she likes it to my surprise! If you have a finicky dog, I highly recommend this freezes dry food. It’s said does not need to refrigerate but I live in Honolulu so I’m going to refer it.I’m going to start from toppers first and change to 100% meals in the future.I’m going to mix half fish & turkey and half chicken so she can have a very balanced meal.Ebie has no issues, no itchy skin, her coat is shinny and super healthy. Thank to Blue Wilderness. However, I’m changing!RECOMMEND !

Value for money, health and digestive issues.
My fussy chihuahua was having digestive issues (very soft and runny stool) with her old food, so we decided to give this food a try. She’s been eating it for about a week now and seems to enjoy it. I’ve even offered her fresh baked chicken tenderloin and this food and she’s choosing to eat the dog food. She now has solid stool and seems to be more energetic and active.

I think this is good dog food , but expensive…
mix this with my dogs food…she likes it, lost some weight and a bit peppier for a older dog. I mix because it is sooo expensive….over all, good work badlands. if poss make it cheaper and I will not mix.

    Quality
My dog is far from finicky. I wanted a balanced diet for my 9-year-old mutt, as she ages gracefully! This is a very expensive product and yes, the pieces are quite hard. My dog has no issue with the density or the size and happily gobbles her meal. The food is quite odiferous, and luckily she scarfs her dinner so quickly, we don’t have to smell it for long. Our pet is worth it!

My miniature poodle nearly choked on this food!
I purchased this food for my 17lb miniature poodle hoping it would meet up to the claims. Upon measuring it into his bowl I noticed the size and shape of the kibble, noting it was a bit larger than I thought and also irregular in shape. I picked up a piece and noticed it was hard, like petrified wood, and the edges were very sharp. I thought, gee, do dogs really like kibble this hard? I put the food into the bowl and my little dog, who will eat anything, began to eat the food, but suddenly I noticed him coughing and clearly he was in distress. I ran to him, he continued to cough and sounded like he was choking! I tipped him with his head down and he was able to spit out the pieces he was trying to chew; thank goodness I was right there. I tried to soften the next feeding with water, but it really did no good so I fed him, by hand, one piece at a time, watching him closely as he ate. After about 3 meals of this stuff I noticed his poop becoming very soft and he was behaving in a strange way – the way dogs do when not feeling well. He became somewhat lethargic, staying in his bed, instead of playing with his toys and running around the house as usual.Of course, I stopped feeding him this product and returned to his usual foods which are Honest Kitchen and some very carefully selected foods from our kitchen which are healthy for dogs. He is slowly returning to his usual playful self and hopefully his poop will return to normal as well.I fear that if I had not been vigilant when feeding this product he could have choked and certainly if I had continued to offer this food his tummy issues and soft poop would have worsened. For the price of this food it should have been the best food I’ve ever offered to my fur baby, instead it has turned out to be the worst choice of all. The company has a “no return” policy and I see no recourse other than to alert others of the dangers of using this food, especially with little dogs.

    Not consistent quality lately.
I have been ordering this for several months now and the recent purchases have arrived with the food in an almost powder form. Literally powder with very small pellets mixed in. My pups love the flavor but of late the quality is not same. I reached out to the company and let them know. I did place another order and let them know that if the product does not improve I will not be ordering again. Very disappointed as it is not worth the price.

    Perfect dog food
Absolutely great stuff. Pure, healthy ingredients. Not cooked, but dried for better nutritional results. My 12-year-old acts like a puppy and loves his Badlands Ranch.
